BC To Lead LA Like Lambs To The Slaughter...

From the very first time I stepped foot into the New Beverly Cinema, I have been asking them to show Shocker, my guiltiest of guilty pleasures (don't forget - I consider Armageddon to be legitimately good). Until now, my requests have not been granted, much to my increasing sadness. But the power of the film's 20th Anniversary was too much for Phil Blankenship of Amoeba Music to ignore, and so I am proud to announce that on October 3rd, at 11:59 PM, SHOCKER will indeed be showing at the Bev as part of Phil's ongoing and increasingly awesome New Beverly Midnights series, with a brand new print to boot! Even better: the screening will be the first of what I hope will be many to be co-presented by Horror Movie A Day!!!

So expect many plugs from now til then; in the meantime, check below for this awesome poster that I slapped together with my meager Photoshop skills!

I promise you... THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.

HorrorBlips: vote it up!

  2. That's awesome, man, I love SHOCKER as well. It doesn't get near enough credit as a fun horror ride. If I lived anywhere near that place, I'd be all over it to re-experience it on the big screen with other people who actually appreciate that shit. But even though I gotta miss out, it's awesome to hear about it happenin' anyway.

  4. lol - nice poster! Is Shocker a guilty pleasure? I'm pretty open about my love for it. This movie gets a really bad rap. I saw it in the theaters when I was younger and loved it ever since. Lucky you though. I'm on the East Coast but that sounds like something fun to see again at the cinema.

  5. Excellent. Shocker is a high water mark in bad cinema. It ended up being the inaugural review for my site.
