So Yulin got shot in the eyes and thus his reincarnate was the blind kid. But I never went back to see if my theory worked.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-71850112215335988992012-06-20T19:27:56.493-07:002012-06-20T19:27:56.493-07:00I just watched this film and on face value it seem...I just watched this film and on face value it seemed very tame, but I after thinking about it, I feel like there is more to it. The point ...Personally I think you are totally off. The point of the Condor sence was to show how Bug was the collector of souls and his best friend Alex is the Raven. Which is why Bug gave Alex the raven for his birthday. At the end of the movie Bug had all the souls in him, he was the condor. Symbolism. All of the 7 were suppose to be the different characters at the beginning like the dark soul said to Bug. They hid in the baby's that were being born. Also the point of his sister beating him up was to show her resentment towards him. Like she clearly said hewas the miracle child while she was just a painful reminder. This movie was actually very interesting and very good. The development of the story was properly done, each character being picked off none of them were suppose
to live. This way at the end when we are given only two
we are on the edge of our seats to know what will happen next. Character development was also properly
used as well. The main character Bug the innocent child
learns that he isn't innocent anymore. The change is
when he changes his Childish frog shirt to the black Long sleeved shirt. Common symbolism. This was to
show that he has made an inner change. When he
brakes the rocking horse he is showing that he
now understands himself and his past and that his father isn't the loving died in a car crash while mom was giving birth dad. He tried to kill him and his sister. Bugs
innocent view on life is now altered. So maybe you guys
should i don't know do some more research about what
makes a proper story than if it's flashy or not. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-32351139514818538862011-12-08T17:48:37.050-08:002011-12-08T17:48:37.050-08:00I don't know what it is about this movie...but...I don't know what it is about this movie...but I watched it a while ago and just fell in love. lol, I just re-watched it a couple days ago, and somehow, I want to watch it again.

Okay, okay--it was not so great in many ways, but there is something about this weird little film that just captured me, and I think a second viewing is needed before you begin to really get the gist of the plot (haha, no really--there is a plot in there) and I really wish that the dialogue had been better..and the characters, for being so..(flat-ish? is the word I'm looking for?) they are still loveable. Alex and Bug are my (obvious) faves, but I really liked Jerome.

Have you read an earlier script? Interesting stuff to see how much it changed.

Enjoyed the review and agreed with quite a bit of it..thanks for the read :)Emnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-25269846699694455392010-10-16T00:18:21.072-07:002010-10-16T00:18:21.072-07:00I just saw this movie and, much in the vein of Hal...I just saw this movie and, much in the vein of Halloween 2 (zombie), I left saying..."what the fuck just happened?" The Tommy Wiseau comparison is spot-on. As far as dialogue, it seemed Craven had just watched Rian Johnson's Brick and was trying to get the same vibe, but without any of the setup. Lots of ideas shoehorned into this--it seemed like a three hour movie cut down to 107 minutes, but leaving every single line of exposition.

That said, it was one of the most fun movie experiences I've ever had. I went with two friends and we were the only people in the theater, and were free to be as loud as we wanted. I seriously laughed louder, longer, and harder than I ever have at a comedy. Pure unintentional batshit insane gold. A cult classic in the making. I laughed every time the Ripper went in for a kill with a ridiculous "blarghhhhh!" or silly line. It was like he was unable to stab someone without letting them know he was attacking.

Besides being a horror fan, one of the reasons I saw this in the theater was to support my friend Zena. She is a cool laid-back girl, and I hope (despite the prayer conditioning line!) that her performance in this gets her more gigs in (and out) of the genre. I'm happy to see her called out in your review, and I'll definitely send her a link to your site.

Also, being a working storyboard artist, I was specially tickled by the end credits. Cool that the artists got their due. Except for the fact that I never actually saw who the storyboard artists were (or anyone else, for that matter...) because I was too busy deciding which side of the screen I should be watching to see the storyboards The layout decision had me scratching my head...Pete Beckhttp://www.peterhbeck.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-67538671205450667842010-10-12T18:30:20.898-07:002010-10-12T18:30:20.898-07:00You are wrong, 3d in this movie awful. This is the second time (the other being on the season premiere of AMC's RUBICON) in a row where he gets killed off in the first five minutes.
