Even once I figured out that it wasn't real, it made me appreciate the filmmaking and the acting even more. I find it funny that the fake part of this movie is much more convincing and involving and well-made than the films it covers (Zebub, Toe Tag).

Also, I think going into it cold is the best way. Even knowing that Petty "thinks Eric is a killer" is a huge spoiler, as far as I'm concerned.

I picked this up from a local blockbuster that was closing and I've lent it to a number of friends, but not until I blacked out most of the synopsis on the back. I just tell them it's a cool doc about extreme/DIY horror and let them loose on it.GDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11330625147796302792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-82157754345581307812011-09-02T11:05:25.920-07:002011-09-02T11:05:25.920-07:00JT's kinda a genius. I picked up this movie blindly from him years ago and was kinda blown away by the end until I did some on-line research to discover the S&MAN videos weren't real. Point is, he fooled me! And this is the movie that got him the gig of remaking FACES OF DEATH, which apparently is still in the cards at some point. He probably has a really cool take on that. I'm a firm JT supporter.Robghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13402470739795422717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-57209320301550679952011-09-02T07:12:30.127-07:002011-09-02T07:12:30.127-07:00I've been curious for a long time as to why Vo...I've been curious for a long time as to why Vogel has been so obviously dismissed here and on other sites that I frequent; Bad Ass and BD for example. Now it makes sense. To tell you the truth, I've only ever seen AU: Mordum and I found it fascinating in a weird kind of Guinea Pig way. I loved seeing the film makers push the boundaries of violence in cinema, but there's obviously a strange undertone that makes one question the reasoning behind going to such extremes. I mean, what's the motivation?

All that being said, it was great to finally hear your quite brazen language in regards to their cinema. A fair critique coupled with personal dismissiveness.

I enjoyed the read, but can't say I'll be hunting it down. This stuff is near impossible to get your hands on in Australia. You need a fat wallet and a specific appetite to be getting Toe Tag shipped over here.Geranthttp://www.youtube.com/gerantgerantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-30975163266311260512011-09-01T22:41:38.836-07:002011-09-01T22:41:38.836-07:00Loved the angle on this movie, thought it was a gr...Loved the angle on this movie, thought it was a great little meta piece.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
