(It is well worth the $1 charge). Mike you brought up a lot of points I too recognized. For instance, I also found myself looking for ghosts in random shots while Radcliffe followed noises throughout the house. Specifically I was straining my eyes to see if the ghost was in the hallway as the candles went dark (the scene where she is supposed to be reunited with her dead son). In addition I was pleasantly surprised we didn't get that typical horror suspense music.

Overall, I was happy with this selection. Radcliffe proved he is more then Harry Potter. Hopefully we can see him in some future horror/ghost films.NJShoreReaderhttp://twitter.com/NJShoreReadernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-44091858773115611632012-07-11T17:44:16.878-07:002012-07-11T17:44:16.878-07:00I thought of some Asian horror films towards the e...I thought of some Asian horror films towards the end, and I even made a comment that was proven correct in this.
The comment is the same as the comment I made on the "Shutter" review on this site, if you want to see what I said.Vader the Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00220366772061668415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-35248794264628868312012-03-08T08:20:16.350-08:002012-03-08T08:20:16.350-08:00This is one of the very, very few movies that star...This is one of the very, very few movies that started to get to me with the long, sustained tension. The one thing I wish they carried over from the original was to repeat the phantom carriage crash sounds at random intervals instead of the single time here. It's almost like Watkins didn't trust audiences could pay attention to a film where things don't come jumping out of shadows every five to seven minutes. Those jumps came at the expense of one of the scariest moments in the novel-the phantom horrible sounds of the carriage crash and the dying panicked screams of the drowned boy. It's in the film, but felt rushed.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998494372417859151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-26834693962714467192012-02-08T14:18:17.958-08:002012-02-08T14:18:17.958-08:00It doesn't bit there is a definite J-Horror vi...It doesn't bit there is a definite J-Horror vibe to the film.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998494372417859151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-24524079262913451682012-02-07T06:09:25.505-08:002012-02-07T06:09:25.505-08:00Does this movie have anything to do with the Japen...Does this movie have anything to do with the Japenese movie lady in black?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-51106294363377905662012-02-06T12:45:00.591-08:002012-02-06T12:45:00.591-08:00The dog is in the back seat when Sam picks him up ...The dog is in the back seat when Sam picks him up the following day. When they are leaving the house driving on the causeway you can seem the dog in the back.Scottnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-39244633842487070802012-02-05T09:22:04.298-08:002012-02-05T09:22:04.298-08:00Yeah, in the other movie he returns to Sam safe an...Yeah, in the other movie he returns to Sam safe and sound. The horses are only partly covered in luminous blankets so we don't see the legs against the dark background. While this would believably convince 18th century villagers, a 21st century audience could be expected to be more sophisticated.IanWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13864128439788522183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-82717746180802139342012-02-05T06:01:53.040-08:002012-02-05T06:01:53.040-08:00A great review of a pretty good movie. Unless I missed it, Sam's dog, which he left with Arthur for the night, is never seen or mentioned after a certain scene involving the front door.
