Then we see Marks office and sidney sees her own file like really, How the hell did he get sidneys file they dont even mention why he has it or how he has it.

Then sidney has a bulletproof vest and in some scenes u can tell shes not wearing one. Like in the 3rd and final act u can clearly tell shes not wearing one.

Then Angelina finds a secret passage and wasnt anywhere to be seen and was the only one who was in the set with sidney, before sidney was attacked. Why steal a madk and stuff and say I wanted to make you proud sidney and wish it wouldce worked out, then she dies by one little stab in the shoulder and the knife wasnt that deep in her shoulder and shes bleeding out of her fuckibg mouth like how is that even fucking possible she wasnt stabbed in the stomach and looking back at scream 4 gale and jill were both stabbed in the shoulder and they didn't die yet angelina does are you freaking kidding me it litterally makes no fricken sense at al that angelina was stabbed in shoulder screaming and then dies when gale and jennifer appear and shes already bleeding out of mouth wheres the stomach wound cuz as far as i know u dont just die when stabbed in the shoulder and bleed out of mouth.

Then the mysterious call at sidneys place is what confuses me even more cuz how did the killer know about sidney having nightmares about her dead mother and romans with the police and suddenly sidney gets a fucking call from the killer the only ones to know sidneys number is dewey and kincaid so who was the one that called sidney and then marks at john miltons place no killer is there he did say he was going to search the set so why isnt he the killer when in all actuality he is along with Angelina cuz i know jennifer couldnt have been roman couodnt have been the killer cuz he was just too dumb he wasnt the one who committed the murders theres no way it was him and when mark said sarah darling said you did im like wait wat how could she have said he called him if shes dead and he said right before she was murdered when she called sunrise studios security she never said anything she did say she was going to a meeting with roman and how could sarahs friend say that she knows romans voice if we dont know her friend whos sarahs friend seriously we dont know her friend. It ...Well first of all you misunderstood the point. It wasn't that they weren't referencing horror movies here, it was that they weren't mentioning ANY real movies. Only made up ones. Which goes against the whole point of the first two, which is that they take place in a world where everyone's seen the same movies the audience has for a change (horror or not). A big moment in Scream 2 is a guy paying homage to Top Gun. No one in the world saw any of the movies mentioned in Scream 3 because they were made up.

But to answer your question, Mickey mentioned a couple of genre films on his own, and the other guy in the film class (Pacey) made a House 2 joke. And I think someone mentioned Psycho/Mrs Bates during the climax after Billy's mom was revealed but I can't remember, might have just been in one of the scripts.

BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-53927273199496977832015-08-03T02:12:45.241-07:002015-08-03T02:12:45.241-07:00"Instead of referencing horror movies, Kruger... "Instead of referencing horror movies, Kruger has a bunch of shitty meta-humor"

Now that's not fair, the first two films were filled with non-horror references, and the only reason they are not heavy in Scream 3 is because Randy was tha main source for the horror movie talk, and now he is dead.

Name one horror reference in Scream 2 that didn't come from Randy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-9804166878596195642012-08-15T21:27:29.656-07:002012-08-15T21:27:29.656-07:00I only liked the dream sequence because I didn'...I only liked the dream sequence because I didn't expect it in a "Scream" movie. The one killer thing got my groin a little, but I do agree that it is the best motive of the three movies.

Demsey's character is the best part. Otherwise it's pretty forgettable. And I stand by the part you quoted - Williamson had the 3rd film plotted out, but Kruger junked it and made up his own. That's insulting to both Williamson and fans. If you liked it, fine, but it's a perfectly valid excuse NOT to.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-30629400275098727672010-10-24T22:08:22.934-07:002010-10-24T22:08:22.934-07:00"If Williamson wants to say that Billy and St..."If Williamson wants to say that Billy and Stu were hired by some douchebag, then he can. Ehren Kruger, as far as I’m concerned, hasn’t earned the right to do that."

That's really ridiculous...A bad plot move is a bad plot move, Regardless of who writes it.

This just strengthens my belief that Scream 3 gets hypocritical hate because it wasn't written by the same writer as the first 2.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-52310510674124408182010-06-07T03:27:43.309-07:002010-06-07T03:27:43.309-07:00Scream 3 has more meat to it than Scream 2.
Ehre...Scream 3 has more meat to it than Scream 2.

Ehren Krueger wrote out a good little mystery that tied back to the first Scream.

For Scream 2 Kevin Williamson really didn't bring his A Game to the table. The plot is weak, there are just 2 more killers after Sidney, her boyfriend will be the major suspect..Etc.

Plus Scream 2 has some painfully stupid moments. Gale and Dewey breaking into the film school at night? Cotton Weary just shows up for no reason in that same building?! Come On!

The whole end of the film take place on an active college campus yet nobody hears all the screaming and gunshots???
Scream 3 was put together a lot better than that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-46028600274975264722010-05-25T09:04:24.174-07:002010-05-25T09:04:24.174-07:00I actually always liked "Scream 3"...not...I actually always liked "Scream 3"...not nearly as much as the first two, but still liked it. Then, reading your review, I realized that every argument you have is perfectly legitamite. I don't think I had ever really thought about it that much before. Hmm, I think it's time to revisit the "Scream" trilogy.Chris Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00621227623111229020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-39409003111389977262010-05-19T16:22:06.227-07:002010-05-19T16:22:06.227-07:00Gale's book was attempting to prove Cotton'...Gale's book was attempting to prove Cotton's innocence. That was why her and Sid didn't get along, because Sid was the one accusing Cotton.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-37920604138559927292010-05-19T16:16:41.637-07:002010-05-19T16:16:41.637-07:00I can think of one horror franchise that went supe...I can think of one horror franchise that went supernatural in part 3, but it came out after Scream 3 and was DTV. Probably doesn't count. I think Randy was just talking about the propensity for horror villains to become supernatural as their series drag on. Also, since Scream takes place in 'the real world' his comment should probably be taken as tongue in cheek.

To throw fuel on the fire regarding the debate about Mrs. Prescott's acting career. I think you could argue that Gale wasn't a good journalist. Her book convicted an innocent man. It's safe to say it wouldn't have been filled with facts and evidence, just bullshit sensationalism regarding the trial.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-63647881936361301542010-05-18T19:03:24.553-07:002010-05-18T19:03:24.553-07:00Anonymous #2 - I have to disagree with your explan...Anonymous #2 - I have to disagree with your explanation on the book research. Have you ever read a true crime book? They ALWAYS include bios for people directly involved, sometimes even the parents of the people involved. The murder victim, even if Gale was trying to paint her in a negative light (which would also entail some digging), would at least be given a brief sum up - "Maureen was born in yadda yadda, graduated from this school," etc - her time in Hollywood would have certainly come up.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-39331219522802386132010-05-17T13:54:52.706-07:002010-05-17T13:54:52.706-07:00I had a friend who just HATED Kevin Williamson and...I had a friend who just HATED Kevin Williamson and his writing and I swear that was the only reason he felt this was the superior entry in the series. It just made me wanna slap the bastard.

Scream 1 rules. Scream 2 is actually really good. Initially I hated the movie simply because they killed Randy, but then I realized what a great job both movies had done making me give a shit about the character in the first place and that the real shock of seeing him die was pitch-perfect. Now I know better.

3 is terrible. A waste of a truly game cast for starters (long live Liev Schreiber!!!), but by the end a convoluted mess that does trash the previous films in an unforgiving way. Live Free or Die Hard is just okay, but is ten times better than this wretched film.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-81528394534988703802010-05-15T10:57:30.241-07:002010-05-15T10:57:30.241-07:00In some ways, I prefered 3.
The biggest reason i...In some ways, I prefered 3.

The biggest reason is probably because I buy the killer's motivation here better than in the first two films. I always thought Billy's reasoning for killing his girlfriend's mother, all his friends and then attempting to kill his girlfriend because his dad had an affair was faulty. He wanted to kill Sidney, who didn't even know about the affair, but not his dad, who was a willing participant? Between the two of them (and the other victims), who was really at fault for his mother leaving?

Then in part two, Billy's mom just completely rubbed me the wrong way. I definitely understand wanting to kill Sidney because she killed her son, but her monologue about blaming Sid's mother was, again, ridiculous. I understand leaving the cheating husband, but abandoning your son because your husband had an affair? No.

In comparison, the killer in the third film has the motive that rings the true to me. He's already a little unstable and being rejected by his parent causing him to want revenge and kill the "recognized" child makes sense to me, in a twisted way.

In response to Gale not discovering Sid's mom was an actress when she was doing her research, I thought it was because she was writing about Cotton, the murders, and the affairs Maureen indulged in rather than a biography. I just don't think she would have put so much effort into finding out where Maureen was her entire life when the book was designed to air her theories that Cotton was innocent.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-54920911621842545482010-05-15T01:38:17.702-07:002010-05-15T01:38:17.702-07:00Actually, that wasn't a cover of Red Right Han...Actually, that wasn't a cover of Red Right Hand.
