Think this movie is mean? The book is like a toss under the bus. There's a ton of great set-pieces, a wide variety of dinosaurs (that will all eat you), and best of all, not a shred of Spielberg optimism when confronted with these suckers.

In a nut shell: Dinosaurs invade The Most Dangerous Game.

I can't praise this, and any of the handful of other books written by Harry Adam Knight, enough. All of them are wonderful nuggets of the blackest of black horror-comedies.

I know, I know, it all sounds like hype. Fair enough. All I say, give it a try if you can find it and I promise you, you will not put it down until it's done.

Teaser: Carnivorous Plesiosaur lays siege to a frat party on a yacht. It is hilarious and horrifying all at once.

*digging out my copy right now*Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17530188453997612858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-87434912283388965482012-03-15T17:03:13.147-07:002012-03-15T17:03:13.147-07:00I really enjoy Carnosaur, primarily because it IS ...I really enjoy Carnosaur, primarily because it IS so mean-spirited. The nature-loving hippies who say, "Peace, green brother!", just before the carnosaur chaws down on them! So great. Not to mention the drunken/lifeless "hero" protagonist.

I didn't know about this (from Wikipedia): Gene Siskel gave the film a marginal "thumbs up," while Roger Ebert gave it "thumbs down" on Siskel & Ebert[12]; their difference in opinion was parodied in television show The Critic, where Ebert taunts Siskel with "you liked Carnosaur!"CWLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14908005137623551741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-31247208433714113242012-03-15T11:00:32.920-07:002012-03-15T11:00:32.920-07:00I think of Jennifer Runyon as "fake Cindy&quo...I think of Jennifer Runyon as "fake Cindy" since she subbed for Susan Olsen (who was on her honeymoon) in the TV reunion movie "A Very Brady Christmas."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-14364123749208012552012-03-14T11:12:57.647-07:002012-03-14T11:12:57.647-07:00Hi! I remember enjoying it, just because it was always fun to see a goofy low-budget B movie on the big screen, and at that time it was noticeably happening with less and less frequency; thanks, of course, to movies like Jurassic Park!

I believe the aspect ratio was your standard 1:1.85, as I recall, but there could have been anamorphic shenanigans going on I suppose!Burlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15471864627412228340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-58521318686965508132012-03-13T22:09:30.204-07:002012-03-13T22:09:30.204-07:00Don't you think that women's natural abili...Don't you think that women's natural ability to create life is WHY mad scientists are all men?

If a woman wants to create life, she can just answer a lonely harts add and wait 9 moths - we have to dig up corpses and learn to sew...Will "Pyro" Tinglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05214345327648994392noreply@blogger.com
