But even if it had just come out that would put the movie in 1975.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-47196431471416177012008-04-02T10:27:00.000-07:002008-04-02T10:27:00.000-07:00I'm a huge Ketchum fan, The Lost is a fantastic bo...I'm a huge Ketchum fan, The Lost is a fantastic book, but the movie was disappointing as hell. You got it right. All of the other characters were pushed out to make room for Ray. It was also weird that the book takes place in the 60's and the movie is obviously shot in the past few years, but the main characters all have the exact vehicles that they had in the book. I don't know why that was funny to me, but it was.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-10800255199836807592008-03-10T23:28:00.000-07:002008-03-10T23:28:00.000-07:00Huh. I liked May, and saw promise in The Woods, but Roman and this one left me underwhelmed, so I'm basically on the fence for McKee.

Cine - good point. Curious how it does with the masses next week when it hits DVD (especially with Sivertson's other movie being such an easy target).BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-33504217472916085942008-03-10T22:37:00.000-07:002008-03-10T22:37:00.000-07:00There's another Jack Ketchum adaptation coming out...There's another Jack Ketchum adaptation coming out soon: RED, which debuted at Sundance this year. It's a far cry, storywise, from Lost and The Girl Next Door. Ironically, the film was being directed by Lucky McKee, before he was dismissed halfway through filming. McKee and Silverston were co-directors of their their first film, All Cheerleaders Die.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-86431608948011719542008-03-10T22:31:00.000-07:002008-03-10T22:31:00.000-07:00I say you're being too kind to the film, and we're...I say you're being too kind to the film, and we're not really in the minority. There is just a very loud contingency of people who talked up the film after seeing it at festivals, and there were few to contradict them because the film has barely been seen except for those festivals. Follow the website link to find my slightly harsher take on the film.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
