Most of it happens off screen so I don't feel overwhelmed by the violence. It also allows room in your heart for these two lonely and rejected kindred souls. A great movie with no annoying voice overs and the music in place of dialogue is brilliant. We see what is happening, so we don't need to be told. Highly recommended.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16711466717985830395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-80227705789856967792010-10-13T16:50:23.260-07:002010-10-13T16:50:23.260-07:00Actually, nah, there isn't enough horror conte...Actually, nah, there isn't enough horror content for a HMAD review, as I think I can judge by my memories of the film, without access to a video. But see it anyway!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-63108869437270405352010-10-12T19:15:08.514-07:002010-10-12T19:15:08.514-07:00I get the feeling from the second paragraph that y...I get the feeling from the second paragraph that you've never seen "Wise Blood." Directed by John Huston, based on the great novel by Flannery O'Connor, staring Brad Dourif as Hazel Motes. One of the greatest movies ever made, I was sure of it as I sat there watching it in amazement in the theater thirty years ago, and I'm still sure of it. And Dourif carries off some of the greatest speeches ever written, playing one of the greatest lunatics to ever walk the screen. Please check out the DVD, if you can, I'm afraid it's out of print and something of a collector's item. Fairly sure there's enough horror content to justify a HMAD review, if only at the hard-to-take ending.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
