I just ordered mine. They're also selling a VHS edition. I want to slip this into a marathon of 80's stuff like Happy Birthday To Me and He Knows You're Alone and see if any of my friends even notice it was shot within the past two years.

I love the dancing and basketball scenes, as they felt like that random padding that 80s movies ran rife with.

The behind the scenes stuff on the DVD was cool. You really saw how small a group of people was behind this. Plus, there's a Joe Bob Briggs Drive-In Total in which he runs down the kills, nudity and fun stuff in the film (including "two scenes that don't make a lick of sense"), like he did on his old show.Greg Anderssonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16929457081087015165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-51277355508228056432013-03-05T18:40:17.786-08:002013-03-05T18:40:17.786-08:00My best friend bought this movie last year as a DV...My best friend bought this movie last year as a DVD / VHS combo pack. I'm not sure the VHS copy is still available, it was a limited edition.

As for the movie itself, we thought it was okay. Justin Russell did a fairly good job on recreating an early 80's style film. Releasing it on video was a nice bonus, which is how we viewed it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-6029714785662877002013-03-05T09:52:01.495-08:002013-03-05T09:52:01.495-08:00Prob a budget thing but we can assume it's a n...Prob a budget thing but we can assume it's a nod to Silent Night Deadly Night :)BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-5224951496215200742013-03-05T09:37:20.761-08:002013-03-05T09:37:20.761-08:00Definitely loved this throwback movie although two...Definitely loved this throwback movie although two things had me dying laughing (don't know if they were intentional or not)

1. Uh....seems like a pretty big campus but there is literally nobody other than the characters in the movie on campus (I'm assuming this was just a budget thing)

2. And this is what cracked me up (and I thought was either unintentional or an obvious throwback to continuity issues in 80s slashers) there are scenes outside where in one shot the ground is covered in snow and the next shot (in the same location) the ground is completely bare.

Loved the movie though, these throwback slashers are my favorite new filmschrishttp://www.twitter.com/classicmaterialnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-36559352997476545902013-03-05T09:23:09.601-08:002013-03-05T09:23:09.601-08:00But on eighties sorority girls? Tattoos are so ubiquitous now I couldn't help myself from thinking "of course, you can't cast a movie full of college aged girls nowadays without one of them having a garish tattoo."

On the other hand, they all looked natural because nothing is more jarring than big fake misshapen tits; especially on sorority girls.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-84817242315788176172013-03-05T09:06:46.564-08:002013-03-05T09:06:46.564-08:00Hah, no, that's kind of funny though. Facial piercings would, but a tattoo - I'm so used to seeing them that it would never occur to me that there was a time where girls didn't do it.BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06480847497966171794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5110147752122772426.post-30047189737077379762013-03-05T08:55:12.837-08:002013-03-05T08:55:12.837-08:00Anybody else taken out of the movie and time perio...Anybody else taken out of the movie and time period by that one swim team girl having a trashy tramp stamp on her side? After seeing this, I wrote elsewhere that:

"The best thing about this one that it was a straightforward throwback, one that didn't rely primarily on supposedly 'retro' over-the-top splatter and juvenile humor like Gutterballs, Hatchet, or Camp Daze (not that I didn't enjoy Gutterballs and Hatchet... Camp Daze sucked)."Lord Crayaknoreply@blogger.com
